Quick & Easy Quilt Block Tool App Reviews

I love this app. I can browse blocks and dream about the kinds of quilts I want to make this winter. There are piecing instructions and yardage and cutting info included. Definitely worth it. I own the original block tool and it is $17, so this is a bargain.

I dreamed of a quilting app for my iPhone that I could use for block inspiration, instruction and calculation and this app is it! .  blocks at your fingertips. Knowing how to cut the pieces and how many will be left eliminates waste because I can now plan for a second project in tandem. Get this app, youll be so happy you did

I LOVE it! The color is fantastic. Its well organized - both alphabetical and by grid type. There are 102 blocks in 5 sizes each. Easy to scroll through. The Favorites Star lets you bookmark your favs to easily come back to them. Make a quilt with any block in any size!

What a cool app! Not only do you get 102 inspirational block designs, but each is already figured out in 5 different sizes. Clearly laid out charts make it super easy to figure out how many colors you need for each block as well as how many of each shape in each size. A real timesaver!

Its a sweet app that I can reliably quote from in class. I trust the cutting measurements and yardage references will be accurate because its from C&T Publishing.

Really have enjoyed looking through this app and know that I will get lots of use out of it any time that I make traditional quilt blocks. Really useful! Takes so much of the math out of quilt block making and who doesnt love that???

I have been playing with the app and love it, love it! There is a very good selection of blocks to choose. Also, the convenience of being able to select the size of your block. At the bottom of your screen, select info and you can view the charts. The charts have your block pieces in regard to cutting/sewing and the calculations for how much fabric you need for each part of the block. A very helpful app/tool when you are shopping for the fabrics you need to design and make a new project with traditional blocks. I am making the Arkansas Road block to incorporate into a new challenge project. This is a welcome iPhone or ipod app!! DianeL

Everything I could hope for in a quilting tool for my ipod touch!

This is a great App for on the go at a quilt shop and trying to figure out how much and how many fabrics to purchase or at home planning your next quilt.

Its so handy to have this app in hand when Im shopping for fabric or just planning my next project. I love the variety of quilt blocks and the cutting instructions are so handy, especially because Im relatively new to quilting. A bargain at any price but a steal at this one!

This is a great tool for newbies as well as experienced quilters! Would love to see a layout grid so we arrange and rotate blocks to see what the finished project will look like. Great job!

This is not how our grandmas quilted! But I dont mind. This is a wonderful resource. Ive found the cutting guides quite useful, particularly regarding triangles and which way the bias should run through them. The stats for various block sizes is helpful too, as it takes the math and guesswork out of trying to resize a block. I can see where its usefulness might be limited to an advanced quilter, but as a beginner to intermediate, its a great tool for me!

Wow this is just what I need. No more searching the Internet for blocks. Would also love to see binding tips and measurements.

Great app for beginners and intermediates, but probably too simplistic for more advanced quilters who already know how to cut out quilt blocks.

I too would love to see a layout grid to see what the blocks look like side by side. Then it would be an awesome design tool! Please consider this.

Good app but the favorites list is very buggy. Would love it if there was a full quilt design tool.

This app does not show what the quilt looks like with blocks put together, does not show yardage of fabrics needed based on block size, does not tell you how many blocks to make, and measurements do not look correct (at least on Grandmothers Choice - one I happened to notice.) I wish I had my $3.99 back because I will never use this app.

Im not a quilter so this is not an expert review, but I find this app useful. Im just learning to sew and my next project is a lap quilt. This app shows me all the basic blocks and how to cut and piece them. One review wanted to know where to find yardage. It was a typo look at page 9 and 10. The guide says page 109 and 110. This program may nor be worth 3.99 to some one that has been a quilter for a long time, but its not a bad app. I think the price should be .99 for the amount of content. If it was .99 it would be 5 stars.

In addition to finding some blocks that I had not previously used, this is so much fun when talking to non-quilters about potential quilts to make for them. I share my passion for quilting by giving quilts as gift. Using this app, you can show the receiver blocks and it gives them an idea when choosing the colors they would prefer. Two wedding this past weekend - both couples are receiving new quilts - I used this application to give them ideas. Thank you so much.
